But you cant LIVE anywhere in the world....

I read a lot of travelling blogs or lifestyle design blogs that scream out that you can go anywhere in the world.

Yes I know I can go anywhere in the world, and now I am at a point where I really CAN go anywhere in the world. But I cant LIVE anywhere in the world. There is a huge difference.

The trouble is, I don't just want to go anywhere and everywhere, I have specific places that I want to go and see but I am not into travel just for the sake of it. I am more interested in finding a sustainable living solution. If you are a long time reader of this blog you will know that if I could LIVE anywhere I would live in North Amercia. But, as I have discussed many times on this blog there are no viable visa options. And no I am not about to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a "business (fools) visa" like a lot of expat brits have done and have got into hot water.

And that's the problem. The V word. You cant LIVE anywhere in the world because you need a VISA. I do not want to play hide and seek with the border authorities. I want to be free to come and go as I please.

I have spent a long time living temporarily in places because I have to be there for work to earn money to live etc etc. Now I want find a sustainable living solution.
Just my random thoughts for today.

Yes, I take your point, there's a big difference between living and visiting. USA is a bit of a problem for visas too. At least that helps you narrow down your search a bit! EU it is for you! ;) Just curious though - what is it about the USA that appeals from the living (rather than visiting) perspective - there may be somewhere else you can find that without the visa hassles.

Tony thats a good question.

I once lived and worked in the US for 4 months on a working/student visa.

Why I want to live there as follows:-

1. English speaking country. For me the ability to converse in one's native tongue should not be underestimated.

2. Same culture.

3. Law and Order (no not the TV programme)

4. Cheaper property prices, aka upstate new york, Oregon, Washington State. More space.

5.The people have spirit, pride and conviction and are patriotic (i know i generalise. When I lived there the natives were v friendly.)

6. Plenty of space. We all live on top of each other here!

7.The ability to move south or move north as you fancy with the climate.

8. The varied and fantastic great outdoors

9. Cheaper cost of living?

10. Is it me or does the UK just seem grey and dirty (make that filthy) and spiritless?

11. Ideally, living in an english speaking country one would find work more easily. Providing of course one could get a visa! I dont think it would be much fun competing with the locals in spain etc for a bar job or a job waiting tables when one is not fluent in the native language.

But In summary more space and cheaper property prices!

I read some more of your blog. It does sound like you need a serious change of life and work. Mybe you like physical work.

I know a woman from another blog who advertised to clean houses and rental units. She works for herself so she gets to keep all the money for herself. she charges $20 an hour and makes pretty good money with no work shortage. Even if you work just 4 hours it's still good money, this is up to you of course.

Another idea that could help you get into the U.S. is to try an Immigration Lower. They might be able to get you in with a permanent resident green card. I know this cause I have one myself, but I came to the U.S. at the age of three now I'm 40 years old.

But talking to my people many have gotten in legal with their Green Card in hand as permanent resident some even became citizens. All with the help of Spanish or Latin U.S. Immigration Lowers. I think some of them know politicians so they can pull strings, legal strings that is. Who knows maybe one of them can give you a job.

Try a web search and see what happens or let me know if you need more help email is best.

I come from my ancestors the Spanish Conquistador from Spain they colonized Purto Rico, Cuba, South America, Central America, and Mexico. They where the ones that invaded the Mayans what a shame they where such great people.

I'm Cuban and can speak spanish thanks to my parents and I know how you feel about escape.

But i'm very Americanized married a beautiful Cherokee woman, talk about Americanized.

Good luck with your escape, Frank.
